Sheldon

It's been a while since I was last at the continuation high school. So, it was nice to go back.

First period, the class was media art. They were working on animations.

Class hadn't yet started. Most had found their seats and were logging onto their computers. One boy, though, was pulling a chair in a circle around him. I questioned him.

"I have to find a good chair."

Another student explained: "He's our Sheldon".

Okay, I can see wanting a chair without a bum wheel. And considering that he found the chair he was testing to be adequate (and worked the rest of the period), I let the whole thing pass without further comment.

  1. Nothing like being in an uncomfortable chair and then having to do work, so I can see his point :)

  2. lol. I love that the other student called him "their Sheldon" and he didn't bat an eye. He just did his thing, picked his chair, and was done. :) As long as he was well-behaved during the rest of class, right?

  4. Hehe, I was that kid at school.

Actually, now I work at a computer all day I'm very possessive about my office chair (we all are). It seems to take ages to get everything positioned just the way it needs to be for proper comfort and then inevitably someone'll come along and adjust it all out of whack.

    1. Understandable. These chairs aren't adjustable, though, so it wasn't like there was all that much difference.

  5. I totally would not have gotten the Sheldon reference.

    1. Oh, they made sure to say "Sheldon from Big Bang Theory", but it was hard to put that in the post without it sounding awkward.

  7. Oh yeah, there's nothing worse than having a bad chair. It's hard to concentrate when it's wobbling or something.

  8. Am I the only person who doesn't watch that show? I had to look up the reference. Honestly, I don't watch much TV and seldom like sitcoms. Oh, well.

I appreciate that this fellow sorted it out and got to work. How refreshing!

    1. No, I don't watch it either. I'm familiar with it, though. It turned out to be a very Big Bang Theory day (see tomorrow's post).

  10. Finding a good chair looks logical. Its like having half the work done.

  11. Sheldon, I have to laugh about that one, because Dakota, my dog is my Sheldon. He has to have things his way, he don't like change, don't mess with his routine, life is all about him......yep, he is my Sheldon.

    1. Nice that we have a shorthand way to describe a personality.

  12. No wonder the kid in the afternoon class was watching BBT. Must be a cult thing.
