A Bit of Halloween

Another weekend, another show...

This time it was a small boutique. Luckily we were indoors, for it rained.

While I had my cold last week, I had an itching to make a Halloween headband kind of like my Christmas one. So, once I was feeling better, I got to it.

It was done just in time for the boutique...

It's supposed to be a little witch's hat. Perhaps I should make a bigger one?

Scorecard

Last week I wrote up a list of stuff I needed to be working on rather than that mini backpack. I'm happy to note that I got much of that list done.

I was able to complete those two unicorn gift card holders...

(And now I have to make another, but that's a different story.)

I did finish the hat stands, and I was able to use them...

(They still need a bit of tweaking as the yarn came a bit unraveled, but that's an easy enough fix.)

I even finished the jellyfish for the donation, but naturally I did not take a picture of it.

I did manage to make some of the wreath pins, but they weren't quite finished (nor did I make as many of them as I would have liked)...

(They're small. The arrows point to them.)

And as for the Russian Poncho... yeah, I didn't even touch that. (Sorry, Heather.) Nor have I done any Christmas knitting.

I did, however, tear apart the mini backpack and rework it. And I'll show that off at some point. (I haven't had a chance to take any pictures other than the ones at the craft boutique.)

Progress. Sort of.

Burned Again

Last week I mentioned that I was going to be at the Green Acres Marketplace on Thursday.

It was a lovely day. Blue skies...

Well, blue skies after the marine layer burned off. And now that I have a canopy, I can hang water bottle carriers from it...

It wasn't too warm, with a nice breeze gusting through. (Next time I'll be more careful about making sure everything is weighed down.) And I made sure to wear sunscreen.

On my arms.

In my defense, my legs rarely get much sun. I stayed under the canopy. I followed the shadows.

But I got a nasty surprise on my return home. A red, warm surprise on the bottom half of the outside of my right leg. (My left leg, not so bad. And I had been wearing capris, so everything above my knee was protected with fabric.)

Really, you'd think I'd know better. Apparently not.

(I'll be back at the farmer's market this coming Sunday. If you're in the area, feel free to stop by and remind me to apply sunscreen to my legs.)

Full Tables

I did a small church holiday boutique this past weekend.

And I took a few pictures of my tables.

Because I'm crazy like that. Only one of the shots came out blurry...

Ah well. At least the table looked populated.

Did you have a good weekend?

Heads Up

I did another craft fair this past Sunday. It was better attended than the last one I did.

I got to sit outside. This would have been nicer if it hadn't been chilly. However, since it rained Saturday, it could have been so much worse. So, all in all a nice day.

Here's my table...

Yes, I was behind a post. This didn't stop people from taking a look, though. And the view I had all day looked like...

my view

I love the color of that tree.

Anyway, you can't tell from the picture, but there was a playground behind me. Towards dusk, the place got really packed. Some kids started throwing balls around.

I think you know where this is going...

The person who put the whole thing together came by around dusk. She took pictures of us participants in our booths. Just as she snapped the picture of me, I got hit in the back of the head by a flying ball.

Doh!

At least the kid didn't have a very good arm. That is, I didn't get hit very hard. It was still kind of scary.

The booth next to mine sold fused glass. They were more panicked by the incoming throws. Yeah, that could have been disastrous. Luckily, none of their wares got hit. (The ball came our direction only three times. I guess they got better control after that.)

I'm thinking of expanding my wares. Would anyone be interested in hand knitted coffee sleeves? You know, like the cardboard ones that coffee shops slide over the cups so as to not burn hands. Or is that too silly?

Craft Fair Dress Rehearsal

Sorry I disappeared for a few days. I've been a little busy since Thursday, and...

You didn't notice I've been gone? Okay then.

I did my first craft fair on Saturday. Or, as I've been calling it since, my craft fair dress rehearsal. It was rather dead, that is, not much foot traffic. (No zombies. Really. I promise.)

My brother took pictures of my table...

I learned a lot. I can't wait to do another.

By the way, I finally found an answer to the first question for that meme I did last week. In case you were curious, I figured out what moment I'd relive.
