In the Comments


At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. 😉

What if there was a way to blog comment via an app like Twitter (so we could easily reply, respond, and keep the conversation going)?

    Considering how Google treats Blogger, I'm sure it would be completely broken.

    I used to have comments sent to me via email and it was so handy as the conversation could go on and on - but I think blogger removed that feature, or I turned it off and can't figure out how to get it back, haha!

      It still exists. You have to enable something, but I forget what. (I could figure it out by trying things out, but off the top of my head I don't recall what it is.) It's great to have a one-on-one conversation, but if you want a bigger conversation, email doesn't quite work.

    That does sound nice. Just as long as its a separate blogging app and not Twitter.

      It wouldn't work on Twitter. There's too much else going on. And the posts are too short.

    Who knows in future where any social media will be, including blogger. There reason why they have replies in comment section. Although I can't recall use them.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
