The Replacement

The class was called "Bridge to IM1". It was an enrichment class for incoming 9th graders to brush up on math 8 (8th grade) concepts they may not have mastered.

There were 29 enrolled in the class. 15 showed up.

And... it was held in the room where that class stole my clock. (For some reason not even in summer can I escape it.)

I recognized many of the names. They had been in that English class (although not in the dreaded 3rd period).

I have since gotten a new clock. I absolutely adore this thing.

I saw it in an art class (it belonged to the teacher), and I thought it was cute. I searched for it online as soon as I got home that afternoon. A couple weeks later I bought my very own.

(It involved a trip to IKEA. You can find it on Amazon, but $5 versus $12? Yeah, IKEA is the better option.)

I especially love the timer. I've been using it to time everything.

On this day, however, I left the clock in my bag. Best not to tempt fate.

So, year end stats... I meant to get to them this week. Next week? Maybe.

  1. There are SO MANY GGOD REASONS to go to IKEA. Your timer may be one of them. Meatballs another ;-)
    Happy Friday!

  2. PS: 15 / 29 is a lame turnout. What happens to the no-shows?

  3. Glad you were able to locate the clock you were looking for. I know having that makes life easier esp when it is time to change class.

  4. That looks like a cool clock! Might have to check it out! I do like reading your end of year stats, just to let you know and perhaps motivate you for next week?

  8. I wish we had an Ikea close to me. I have never been in one!

    1. It's an experience. Although, it's a zoo on Saturdays...

  9. Ikea is so dangerous. Did you really just walk out with a clock? Unless I approach Ikea like some Mission Impossible scenario I never walk out with only what I went in for (my Mission Impossible approach has me research exactly where to find it, use the map to work out the most direct route using all the shortcuts - in...out...with hopefully no tempting distractions).

Not sure if you guys have it yet but we can get home delivery with our Ikea, or order online/pickup from loading dock. I haven't used the service yet, but it might be cheaper than me going in store!

  11. That clock looks really useful. May have to get one! Believe it or not, I've never set foot in our local Ikea. Perhaps that's just as well. I'd probably want to bring home things we don't need. Heh... Be well!

    1. Yeah IKEA is quite the maze. It's easy to get lost in there. And overspend.

  12. I've only been to IKEA once and I was fascinated with the backdrops for their displays. I think I could live in IKEA.
