That Special Day
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)
Middle nephew's birthday is Thursday. Star Wars Day. Which got me thinking...
What if you could designate your birthday as some "special" holiday? What would you pick?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

I'd make it 'national do only what you want to today' day. Yet, I've pretty much always had that as I was born on Sept. 2nd and my birthday is almost always part of Labor Day weekend. Sucks when you are a child...everyone is out of town for your party.

My birthday is in February, right between Valentine's Day and President's Day. If I had to pick a theme for my birthday, I'd pick "Caribbean Beach Day".
ReplyDeleteI like that. Just what one would need in February.
DeleteI hope he's a Star Wars fan.
ReplyDeleteOfficial Ninja Day!
National Explosives Appreciation Day
ReplyDeleteLOL. Is it anywhere near July 4th?
DeleteNope. September 21.
DeleteAh well. That would have been a kind of fitting juxtaposition.
DeleteNational Vodka day!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that exists? October 4th. (Or is that your birthday?)
DeleteLOL with Birgit's answer! I would have to go with National Do Not Go Christmas Shopping Day as my birthday falls within a few days before Christmas.
ReplyDeletebetty
Star Trek Day should be nominated as an public holiday.
ReplyDeleteThe Purge Day. Or National Cake Day. Either one works for me.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is right before Christmas, so guess whose birthday always got swallowed up in the holidays. I'm not alone, either; my mother in law and sister in law were born in the same week (different years) as me. Maybe I should just choose a different date and call it "It's All About Me day". For once.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a plan.
DeleteIt is a special day.....my bday is on Valentines Day but I would settle for it being named Pam's Day! lol
ReplyDeleteAh, I should have known that someone has a holiday birthday. So, you're good.
DeleteAmusingly enough, my B-day is Feb 15th. But I share that date with my first love, so we should have our own day. Hmmm... Fireworks Day! We certainly had plenty of those, good and bad.
ReplyDeleteCute.
DeleteNow I'm wondering what day falls on mine (Aug 15) lol
ReplyDeleteI've just been Googling it. Let's see... Relaxation Day.
DeletePJ all day day
ReplyDeleteThis is a popular dress up day for the high schools...
DeletePet all the cats day. lol
ReplyDeleteI hope your nephew likes Star Wars!
ReplyDeleteI am a January baby but Halloween and National Chocolate Day (also in late October) match my interests.
He doesn't get much choice in the matter (my brother/his father is a huge fan).
DeleteThey have Christmas in July. Why not Halloween in January?
Mine would be "Christmas Baby Day" since I was born exactly 9 mths before Christmas Day. We are all special ;)
ReplyDelete# I mean 9 mths AFTER Xmas day!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've got a similar, although not Christmas...
DeleteOh probably unicorns and rainbows and cupcakes day. Which it always is, cause it's my birthday!
ReplyDeleteHow about unicorns on rainbow cupcakes?
