Nick of Time

I managed to finish the Freaky Easter Bunny before Easter. Just before. Just in the, um, well, see the title.

(See, I did manage to find a way to fit it with N.)

If you remember the last photo, you may notice that the eyes are different. I did redo them. That is, I took them off the face and moved them down a bit, rotated them a bit, and resewed them on. They weren't right before.

If I choose to make a gang of these, I'll have to think about starting them earlier. Much earlier. January? Maybe. Does anyone know when Easter falls next year? If it's an early Easter year, I might have to think about starting them in December.

Ah well. It's done now.

Did you do any crafts for Easter? If you celebrate, did you have a good Easter? Is it too early to start Christmas crafts yet?

Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

  2. Liz, that is a different looking bunny! Cute though....Glad you finished it up in time for Easter. Hope you had a great Easter. Dakota and I vegged out all day except when we took the recycle off. That is the first Easter that I remember that we did not do a family dinner. But...it was nice. I did not do any crafting yesterday but I do need to get on somethings. Have a great week.

    2. Hey Liz...the Batman bldg. is the AT&T bldg. but it was tagged as the Batman bldg. due to the points coming off each side. Makes it look like the batman head gear. I have such an amazing canvas on the side of my house and I might just get around to painting it one day! People love my shed and the deck space will be great when I seal and frame it. Once I finally get around to painting my mailbox that might be enough for the neighbors!

  3. We dyed eggs yesterday, but I know my kids won't eat them after they've been hidden in the yard. So once they were done, we still had a ton of dye left. What to do? Dye sea shells, of course! It actually worked pretty well with our supply of small white shells.

  4. I love how your Easter bunny turned out. I know what you mean about how sometimes features don't turn out just right and you need to redo them.

Easter is early next year. I found a website the other day at work which tells you the dates of Easter Sunday all the way up until 2299, just in case you really want to plan ahead. ;-)

    1. I don't know if I consider April 1st early. A week before that, yeah, that would be early. I think April 1st is right about average.

  5. lol. Aren't you clever (with titles and moving bunny eyes)? Was the bunny used as decoration or did you give him/her to someone for Easter?

    1. The bunny is sitting in a plastic tub. It'll probably live with the spiders soon enough. (I didn't actually do Easter. It's one of the holidays that I skip.)

  6. I had a great but busy Easter. Of course I am the Easter Bunny in my household

  7. It came out pretty nice looking (freaky but still nice). The eyes do seem to fit better in their new positions, while still being "off", if you know what I mean.

    1. I copied the face of one of the pattern designer's ones. She did the teeth like that. I think it works.

  9. He's a bit....freaky. But you may get the last laugh on me. I'm going to try to crochet a giraffe. Hopefully she will take less time than the afghan that took me 3 1/2 years. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

    1. Well, freaky was in the name, so I knew what I was getting into. Amigurumi is so huge right now, I don't think it'll be that hard (especially now) to find a good pattern to follow.

  11. Hooray, you did it! I had to work the day job on Easter so I didn't get to do anything fun. =(

    2. So cute and a good N. I want to knit some soft baby toys for the neighbor new baby. They are so sweet.... their 1st baby. When they go for a hike up the mountain, they take my dog along with their two dogs and the baby in his pouch. I did knit him a sweater but he's too little for it.

  13. Hi Liz - well done ... and I love the title - in the Nick of Time ... clever - and I imagine a group of them, or a herd or a warren ... would make a fun display - cheers Hilary

  14. That's such a characterful bunny! I love the expression. Have you seen the film Wallace and Gromit and the Curse of the Were-Rabbit, by any chance?

  15. Nice job with the bunny and fitting it in for the letter of the day! You've reminded me that I have a Halloween craft to finish. It's never to early to start holiday crafts!

  16. Oh gosh...this is a funny bunny! I love it ...he makes me laugh. I already started Christmas cards and have bought a couple of gifts already

  17. I wanted to look back through your posts to see how your bunny turned out. He kind of looks like the minions from Despicable Me 2 when they were turned purple :) With my usually rate of finishing crafts, I could never start too early on Christmas crafts, lol.
