God School

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)

What if this world is the training ground for future universe creators?

  1. I like Alex' comment. I think too it could be interesting universes being created based on the way some people act and the things they do.

  2. Then I am thinking the future universes are going to be a mess if they base things on this one!

    1. The idea is that they learn what not to do ;)

  3. Then someone is doing a bad job of teaching how to change things.

  4. Then we are so screwed. From what is said about current universities, being p.c. and promoting "safe zones", graduates will scarcely know how to sharpen a pencil (what's a pencil), let alone create universes.

    1. Oh, modern universities are just fine. At least, from what I've seen.

  5. Well, I am surprised they haven't blown us up to start again. They may think they make progress with people like Nelsen Mandela but then they see Trump and we are in danger of being thrown into the waste basket

    1. I'm just hoping that 45 is a lesson that makes us stronger. Hopefully, the lesson will be over soon.

  6. I've sometimes thought: what if this world is basic training for some ind of terrible war among gods or immortals? A "god" school is even more scary. We are all going to get "F"'s. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  8. Maybe it is. I've seen enough glitches in the matrix I'm sure a workplace experience teenager is running my universe. (Just joking in case they are reading this.)

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
