Wrong Lunch

The day had gone pretty well. The math classes were well-behaved. I got the same question over and over. This happens sometimes. I make a note of it so the teacher knows.

Third period ended. I stood at the door waiting for fourth period to arrive. And waited. And waited.

Wait a minute!

For some reason, I thought I had B lunch. Turned out I had A lunch. Which meant that while I was waiting at the door, I was missing the first few minutes of my lunch.

Ugh!

Usually which lunch I have is obvious, but on this day... Ah well...

(I only get a half hour for lunch, but I ended up with enough time. And since it was an easy day, it wasn't like I was needing a full half hour of quiet anyway.)

  5. I think sometimes life is like that. We're waiting for something to happen when we should be making something else happen. =)

    1. It's not generally hard. There's a detail that I've left out so as to not identify the school district, but that detail makes it pretty easy to know which lunch I get. But this day, I didn't realize that my 4th period was that type of class.

  9. It's shocking how quickly that half hour goes. It takes me 5 minutes to get to the staffroom and then there's a big queue to get to the urn for a coffee so really it only ends up being 15 minutes. Teachers do it tough!

    1. And that's not even counting the time to hit the restroom.

    2. I reckon in 30 years I might have manages lunch maybe a dozen times. Drama teachers always have stuff to do while they are ' not working '

  12. I think of the staff room and 30 min. we had for lunch. It was a race against time, some days.
