One Song
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)
Just a strange little thought...
What if the universe was built on music?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

I think it would be really pretty as long as it wasn't offensive music like some rap can be.

Well, this universe did produce rap...
DeleteIt might be. Music is very mathematical, so if it was, I guess I wouldn't be shocked.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the math is musical.
DeleteA universe built on music might be a better universe!!
ReplyDeleteCould be.
DeleteIt would be a really awesome place! And who says it wasn't orchestrated with music?
ReplyDeleteWho knows? There may be more truth in that statement than any of us know. As long as it doesn't play rap crap or "Feelings" I'm aok with that:)
ReplyDelete*smiling*. Nice I'd say.
ReplyDeleteI hope it would be.
DeleteIt wouldn't surprise me if it already is. Every tiny particle resonates with its own song...
ReplyDeleteOh my, what an interesting thought!! Some days it would be Horst with The Planets, another it might Aaron Copland with Appalachian Springs? Or would the Universe resound with a variety of music? How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGood questions.
DeleteMusic is so intertwined with math - I think our universe is already built on music. That is why musical animals such as birds are so appealing to us. One day, we may be able to hear the songs of the stars. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be awesome?
DeleteBut it is. Everything vibrates at a specific frequency, and I suspect if we could interpret those frequencies as sound we'd be astonished at how well they blend.
ReplyDeleteI agree with earlier comments that it is but if it was built on even more music, I would love it because I love music. :)
ReplyDeleteNature is already fused with it's own music. Maybe more things are too if we took the time to listen.

Probably.
DeleteI think it is. Music and light! Have you read The Sparrow? It's about aliens contacting Earth via music. Great book!
ReplyDeleteNo, I'll have to check that out.
