Don't Count Your Chickens...


This week's quiz comes from Oxford Dictionaries. They've given us the first half of 10 "common" English phrases. Okay, okay, most of them are common. A couple of them I'd never heard before.

Complete the Phrase


I got a respectable 80%. Two of those phrases I'd never heard before. Or it might have been three, and I just made one really lucky guess.

    I did poorly...the devil phrases did me in. I had never heard some of those.

    I got an 80% too. The last two I had never heard of. "Accidents will happen" and "needs" must were completely new.

    I did a whopping 70%. I have never heard the complete versions of a couple of those until today.

    I got 80% too. A couple of these might be used in England but not in the states. I almost posted this quiz this week!
