Versatile Blogger Award

Last week Pinky Poinker was kind enough to pass the Versatile Blogger Award on to me.

So, I get to tell you seven things you might not know about me and then pass this off to fifteen other bloggers.

Seven things, eh? Hmmm... I can't just use the list from last time, can I? I suppose not. It's not really up to date, anyway.
  1. So, for the 4th of July I was all set to go to out. I made chocolate chip cookies to bring along (because I always bring chocolate chip cookies to these things). I made them that morning (well, early afternoon). Before going out, I laid back on the couch, closed my eyes... Next thing I knew, it was way too late to go anywhere.
  2. That means I spent the 4th of July listening to all the fireworks going off all around me. Until past midnight. And they were loud.
  3. Around midnight, a helicopter hovered around the neighborhood. It got very quiet all of a sudden. The helicopter left, and the loud banging noises started right back up.
  4. I shouldn't have been surprised. Loud banging noises had been going on in the evenings for weeks.
  5. Oh, and the cookies... It only took me a week to eat them all. When I probably would have only had a couple and given the rest away to those at the barbeque. Sigh.
  6. I have a weird mark (bug bite?) on my neck that I have no idea how I got. It itches.
  7. I'm moving this summer. As soon as I find a new place.
Nah. Not going to do it. I think all of you deserve this, so I hereby award this to everyone who stumbles across this post. Your welcome.

  1. Great way to handle the award. Thanks! My daughter’s speciality is CC cookies also. I hate when she makes them, though because just like Lays Potato chips, you can’t eat just one.
BTW, maybe you should get the “itchy” weird mark looked at.

  2. We had three days of fireworks this 4th of July because of weather. My dogs were not amused.

And it, sadly, probably would've only taken me a couple of days to eat all the cookies. I have no willpower where chocolate chip cookies are concerned.

  5. Congratulations!
Funny a helicopter would come to investigate the noises. I'm sure the cops were busy enough that night.

  6. I swear, the fireworks haven't stopped yet.

I guess you can console yourself for missing out with all those cookies. Good luck finding a new place!

  7. I'm assuming your part of Southern California is illegal for fireworks unless it is a public display put on by someone? It is down here, but people have a way of still putting them off (grrrr). And to top it off the golf course a mile away does a big display that is so loud and a certain corgi doesn't like fireworks. When theyh started he was in the bathroom, so I went in there with him, turned the fan on and closed the door; muffled a lot of noise :)

I hope you find what you are looking for when you move. I don't like moving but sometimes it can be a good thing.

    Congrats on the award :)

  8. What a great way to share the love Liz! My dogs hate fireworks too. They're illegal where I live unless it's a display by a licensed company. I can't believe you slept through the occasion. Oh well... least you got to eat the cookies:)

    1. I was a bit tired...

Individual fireworks are illegal in my town. That doesn't stop people from setting them off, though.

  9. Oh no! Too bad the fireworks didn't start early enough to wake you up! We went out to eat and came home early. We watched the NYC fireworks on TV, but, yeah, we had to listen to the neighbors' fireworks all night, even though it's illegal here.

  10. Our neighborhood fireworks were the Saturday before the 4th - we tried Benedryl on our dog at the suggestion of a vet friend...didn't really help - she HATES loud noises (but she was a street dog before she adopted us). And of course on the 4th the kids in the neighborhood set them off until way past midnight. I could have used a plate of those cookies!!!! Glad you at least got a good nap!
