It's Started

I saw this on Bluesky the other day:

"Why did you come to this time? To warn us?" The time traveler laughed. "Why would anyone listen to me?" "You're from our future-" "No, I'm from a different timeline, a different future. I'm a refugee." "To here? Now?" "It looks fucked right now, but this is the timeline that pulls through."

I wish. I wish. I wish.

But, alas...

A comment on my post from January 14th, when I asked about the federal government refusing to help states they do not like with money after a disaster:

...And no, I don't believe the incoming administration would do such a thing. They have too many issues to fix in this country to get into such pettiness.

It's already started...

Another comment to my post from November 26th, when I wondered about the government shutting down the National Weather Service as outlined in Project 2025:

You really believe in Project 2025? Maybe I'm wrong but it seems mostly a joke...

Nope. Not a joke. And he's already started doing these. Everything else is coming. If you doubt that, I have some swamp land in Florida to sell you.

I'm angry, and I'm going to continue to be angry. If you're not, then I wonder. I thought people cared about other people coming to harm, but apparently not.

  1. Yes, I'm angry too. And deeply sad. And scared. For myself and for others. He's doing what he said he'd do, that others said he "wouldn't" or "couldn't" do. It looks like he can and will do whatever he wants. This time he's hand-picked his administration to be just those already in align with his goals. Last time, they didn't and got fired or resigned. They know just what he is this time, and are all for it.

  2. Yes, it seems like a bad nightmare. The executive orders are crazy. It all feels crazy right now.

  3. We knew it. There will be grim satisfaction in telling the idiots “we told you so.”

  4. I might be homeless as a result. HUD funding axed along with all federal assistance I guess including medicaid. I cried for hours. I woke in the night and read that story then could not sleep, thinking of my cats and where will they go and what will become of me too.

    1. I receive "extra help" from our (yours and mine) state, as a senior. I have a disabled relative who gets help with necessary medication. There is no way they can pay out of pocket. Our state is better then a lot of them, so I wouldn't worry too much yet. Hugs...

  5. Just wait until Biden gets blamed for all the harm those executive orders are going to do - and his supporters fall for it. I'm truly pessimistic; people just do not ever want to admit they made a mistake.

  6. I don't see how anyone isn't taking all of this seriously! I know FOTUS made a big deal of visiting western NC, but I really don't think any good will come of it. He (unfortunately) took NC in the general election, but (fortunately) we have a Democrat governor and A.G. who are already fighting some of the craziness, so I'm sure NC will be punished too.

  7. I now start to wonder how long they will let Trump get away with this crap.

  8. Birgit here…he and his oligarch friends want to build a 4th Reich..look at what Elon did and he knew what he was doing when raising his hand up. My hope is that Resident Rump will show his true colours to the people who voted for him and he will crawl back into his tanning bed. Maybe he will just die in his sleep but not too soon, otherwise, he will be made into a martyr…sadly.

  9. As someone on international shores I am distanced from the immediate, but it does feel like a horror movie that I'm waiting someone to pass the popcorn for...because surely it's made up :(
