As it is spring break for me, I have saved last week's subbing stories for next week when I'll be back to work. That means this week is summer schedule time. And Fridays are for random quizzes.
This one is perfect for our little April trek through the alphabet. You'll be given pictures of 26 different dishes, one for each letter of the alphabet. Can you identify each one?
Identify 26 Global Foods from A to Z
I got 20 out of 26, or 77%, which for me is excellent. I am an incredibly picky eater. I don't try a lot of new things, and I don't keep up with new trends. A few of my correct 20 were lucky guesses.
I bet you can do better. Let me know how you did in the comments.
Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

Any food is good food.
ReplyDeleteThe site quit loading for me at M, but I had already gotten a bunch wrong. I probably failed this quiz, which is no surprise as I tend to eat the same boring food every day!
ReplyDelete26/26
ReplyDeleteCongrats. Not surprised.
Delete👍👍
ReplyDeleteI second songbird, got them all. I'm a fairly adventurous eater, no snails or bugs for me, tho.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. I knew people who eat more varied foods than me would do better. That's pretty much everybody ;)
DeleteI would be no good at identifying foods from around the world. I was allergic to so many foods as a kid and still am to some that I'm not an adventurous eater.
ReplyDeleteI hate mayonnaise. You will be hard-pressed to find anyone pickier than me with food. I mean, I hate coffee. You might be surprised at how well you do.
DeleteEnjoy your well deserved spring break!!
ReplyDeleteI also got 20/26. That was fun! (and now I'm hungry) @samanthabwriter from

Only 18/26 - but I had problems with stuff like the shepherd Pie which didn't look lie any shepherd pie I have ever eaten. Those things are MESSY.
ReplyDelete*My* shepherd pie is nothing like theirs, also. Good job. Some of those were hard.
Delete23/26. I think I did that well only because of my husband's love of the Food Network programming.
ReplyDeleteThere were, like, two that I only knew from Good Eats. Great job.
Delete22, and I'm quite pleased I did that well! I had quite a few lucky guesses, or narrowing down. The S looked nothing like any shepherd's pie I've seen! I like the name Tom Yum even if I got that wrong. A lot of the dishes looked... well, not very appetizing! I didn't think I was picky, but maybe I am!
ReplyDeleteSome of those dishes were things I'd never seen before. Not all of the misses were because you wouldn't want one, I'm sure. Great job.
DeleteI'm wondering...will Z be ziti?
ReplyDeleteI don't remember what Z was. I took this quiz a while ago.
DeleteI guessed by elimination. My score was 21.
ReplyDelete16 out of 26.
ReplyDelete24/26
ReplyDeleteFun quiz, Liz!
I wouldn't get any of them I'm afraid. But I'm not going to try because my pc keeps freezing up tonight.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. You might be surprised at how well you so (I was), but the site is cluttered with pop ups and ads, so it will definitely take down a glitchy computer. Even non-glitchy computers aren't immune.
DeleteGlobal foods sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you've never seen some of these dishes. (Just some. Most weren't that obscure.)
DeleteI got 22 /26 but it was really 23 because the shepherd's pie wasnt shepherd's pie. You can't have two layers of potato, that would make it in to something more like moussaka. Mind you, plenty of the others I wouldnt have got if the photos had loaded instead of giving me the alt image word lol
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Alt image would have helped me a whole lot.
DeleteYou did great, Liz! I got two wrong. Like Jemima, I don't think that looked like shepherd's pie, and my homemade ratatouille is also completely different. Oh, and now I'm hungry. lol Be well!
ReplyDeleteGood job. Yeah, some of those weren't quite what we were used to.
DeleteThis is Birgit..I got 50%…not surprised
ReplyDeleteGood job.
DeleteI hit the wrong button at T (I knew it wasn't tacos, come on!🌮) 22/26 84%
ReplyDeleteI've had most of those. I also knew what most of the "wrong" answers were. Cool test. Too many damn ads. But great A to Z!

Hi Liz - I got 20 too ... very lacking in knowledge about Asian foods - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteMy brain fog made me click the wrong buttons, so I'll try it again another time :-)

It can be rather busy, too. But it's way better than the quiz site I used before.
