A Translator

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements.
😉

This is one of those weeks where I really have nothing, so I'm stealing a tweet. A shout-out of thanks to Red for liking this tweet on Twitter, thereby allowing it to fall into my feed so I could steal it.

    1. As long as you can type it in correctly. Google translate wouldn't "hear" the ghost.

  2. This is funny situation if you don't understand what ghost said to you. I never before didn't think about it.

  3. Maybe I would try to contact one of those paranormal TV programs for help. Or there must be a paranormal fan group around where I live. Maybe. Hoping someone would believe me. But I have to ask, if I didn't speak the ghost's language, how would I know it is trying to move on?

    1. A paranormal TV show would adore you for that. Perfect solution. But you're right, are they actually trying to move on?

  6. I would go to, what’s that called..oh yeah, a bookstore and look for a dictionary that might be close to the language I am looking for and then try it on the ghost. If that doesn’t work, what do I care if the town thinks I’m nuts, been there before and carry it like a badge of honour😁

    1. Yeah, if you don't care about how people think of you, then that part doesn't matter.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
