I found this on Twitter on Sunday, and I thought, "why not?" It's way better than any question I can come up with today...
What if Mars has water on it because we used to live there and we messed up the climate so badly that we had to send an escape pod to Earth with only Adam and Eve in it and the pod was the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs?

I don't think we had the technology for escape pods back then lol!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, very possible... 🥴
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting scenario. That would make all Earthlings aliens!
ReplyDeleteWell, there is the theory that all life originated via a meteorite that had a certain cell on it. That would make us alien, too.
DeleteInteresting! I've actually read a book by a fellow author who proposed we were on Mars first.
ReplyDeleteThat was, like, sixty five million years ago, though. There wasn't even anything human-like on earth.
ReplyDeleteAs much as this plot would make a great SF novel, I think we are too close to various other mammals (primates, especially) in our DNA to be descended from aliens. But, again, it would make a great novel!
ReplyDeleteI have at least five issues with that tweet. But you're right, it might make a good novel.
DeleteIf Mars used to be our home, that does not bode well for the future of the Earth
ReplyDeleteI know, right?
DeleteBest not to speculate about that, it sounds to possible. Wouldn't that just the way?
ReplyDeleteEh, I don't know. I have several issues with it as presented. But it's fun to consider.
DeleteIt might be hard to pull off with accuracy, plus, a single man and woman wouldn't be able to populate the earth.
ReplyDeleteI guess history would be in making.
ReplyDeletePowers to be help us all.
Coffee is on and stay safe
This is quite interesting! I wonder, where are we heading to next?
ReplyDeleteI love things like this that make you think, even though I don't believe this, it's interesting to muse about different ideas isn't it!
ReplyDeleteHope that your week is going well :)
Away From The Blue
Yeah, it's a different idea, to be sure.
DeleteIf Mars was our home then we might be able to live there again.
ReplyDeleteWell, you never know. It could be the case...I doubt it but it could be.
ReplyDeleteOnly if that's a very, very simplified version of it. Otherwise, there are some inconsistencies with the geologic record.
DeleteSomeone does some really DEEP thinking. Well, if that was what happened to Mars I would understand us destroying the world but wondering how we would have done it. As for our pod being what wiped out the dinosaurs that would be understandable also, people starting out with a bang and starting to destroy the earth before we move in.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they were thinking deeply or thinking while on something...
DeleteOh, this is an interesting science fiction premise. I like it! Be well, my dear.
ReplyDeleteIt is, isn't it?
