A Different Kind of Tourist

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. ðŸ˜‰

What if meeting time travelers was an ordinary occurrence?

  1. It would be fun. You could schedule time with them to learn about where they have been and where they might want to go. Could learn a lot of history that way if they have traveled to the past.

  5. Ooh...I’d love that and I would love to go back in time and meet my grandparents on both sides and even my dad and mom...if that is allowed.

    1. You'd have to get the tourists to take you with them. I wonder if they would.

  6. And how do we know we don't meet them everyday? Perhaps they are some of the people locked up in mental health facilities due to their "hallucinations".

    1. Excellent question. That is kind of the premise of the movie version of 12 Monkeys. (The TV version was a bit different. Worth if if you haven't seen it.)

  7. I think that would be cool....esp if I could do some time skipping myself! Be cool to learn about them, where they come from by talking to them and then traveling to where they came from.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
