In Hiding

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements ;)

What if the Earth is a witness protection location for aliens?

  4. Probably is. We're all aliens, after all, now matter how many generations back. I'd go around look carefully at fellow allies, wonder what they'd done to be in witness protection, where they'd come from.

  5. Then we'd probably all be fecked when some super technologically advanced alien mob boss decides he's too lazy to come find the guy who betrayed him so instead he just blows up the whole Earth.

  6. That sounds like it would make for a wacky MIB-like story :)

  7. Then whoever found out about it would be trying to convince the government before that alien gangster turns up and unleashes hell...

    1. I wasn't specifically thinking of that when I came up with this. Sometimes questions just pop into my head (like this one did).

  10. You must write this now. YA or MG preferably. If you don't, I want to steal this idea!!

  11. Truly, given some of the people I deal with, this would not surprise me in even the tiniest bit.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
