May 1st is Friday. And there's a May Day event:
You can find information about it here. And in anticipation of May Day, there's a cancel party (hence today's post title) for May Day Eve:
The idea behind this one is that by using the services that give the billionaires the profits that make them billionaires, we're supporting them in oppressing us. Of course, it's really easy to say, but a lot of these services are things that we use and like, so it's harder to do.
Information about the cancel party can be found here.
It's a virtual event. In case you're interested.
As I do every Tuesday, the comments are open for venting. (I may not respond, but I am reading all of your comments.)
Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...

Jamie here: I always get anxious to see how people are going to work around X. As you've said, everyone cheats on this letter.
ReplyDeleteRepost on my ole pal, Xerxes.
DeleteYou kind of have to cheat. Although, I've found some interesting work arounds in previous years. (Ximena is a name. As is Xiomara. And Xavier. I have had students with those names, so I may have appropriated them for posts.)
DeleteThat will be easy enough for me, I'm in.
ReplyDeleteNo shopping is easily done, and for me I don't work or go to school. My X post today isn't a word.
ReplyDeleteGoing to Pennsylvania Friday. I'll let you know if I see anything different.
ReplyDeleteIf I didn't need the services for work, they would be out the door. As it is, I have refused to take on additional META options like Instagram and Threads. I'm stuck with Facebook and Messenger for now. How do you remove the gangrene limb and not lose a hand?
ReplyDeleteYup, it's hard to cut all of it out. Things like Amazon can be the supports a disabled person needs (the ease of getting things immediately). And if you have kids, how do you get rid of Disney? It's a cancel what you can (as some probably have subscriptions to things they don't use).
DeleteIt really is challenging, living ethically within capitalism. All we can do is the best the can. @samanthabwriter from
