Normally my Saturday posts are just some picture that I can fit to the letter of the day. But V?
I'm sure something obvious will occur to me after I hit post, but at the moment, I'm blank. And I have been pondering this for days. But with my pondering, I thought, why not video? Why don't I post a music video? There's bound to be a good song that starts with V.
But, off the top of my head, nothing was coming. So, I consulted the Google, and found this website with a list of a bunch of songs that start with V. I didn't have to scroll long before I stumbled on "Valotte" by Julian Lennon. And I knew that was the one.
I loved this song back in the day. And until running across it for today, I hadn't heard it in years.
Oh, and by the way, apparently there's an MTV Rewind website with hours of music videos from various eras. In case you're interested.
What do you think of the song? Had you heard it before? What's a song from your junior high years (ages 12-13) that you just adored?
Today's A to Z Challenge post brought to you by the letter...
I've never heard this song before, its a little before my time. I do enjoy the use of piano in music though, its such an emotional instrument.
ReplyDeleteIt can be for sure. Yes, I know I'm old...
DeleteAll I had was some impaling dude. Yours is much better.
ReplyDeleteI had no heard it, or of it, before. Oh, dear... middle school? I didn't really listen to music, but my friends did. One got several The Monkees albums for her birthday! It wasn't until high school I started listening to the radio and getting my own records.
ReplyDeleteNo music in middle school? I vividly remember my 7th period home ec class and how there was a group of us who were in a constant argument over whose group of choice was better. (This was the band button era, so we wore our allegiances proudly.) Of course, now these choices are funny: Menudo, Michael Jackson, Boy George, and there's another that's slipping my mind. I will not reveal my allegiance, but they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
DeleteI do remember this song, but I had to listen to your video - I didn't remember it by name. Err, middle school. It was all disco, Abba BeeGees.
ReplyDeleteI remember that song. Good pick for V.
ReplyDeleteThis one is a first for me
ReplyDeleteI remember this song from when it came out, and I was in my 30's by then. Songs from my middle school years? We called it junior high back then, and for me it started in 7th grade. Two would be (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction from the Rolling Stones and the Byrds Mr. Tambourine Man.
ReplyDeleteI Haven't heard it before, but I thought,"he sounds like John Lennon." I was in junior high school in the late 1950s. Two that I liked were 'The Happy Organ" and "Sleep, sleep, sleep".
