The Third Annual Meme Collection 13

As I planned out what I'd write about on the blog this summer, I realized that there are a couple topics I seem to hit annually. One of them is a roundup of some of the various memes I've collected. As I did this in 2024 and 2023 around this time (not quite the exact week, but in July), I figured we were due for another. Of course, this is a Thursday 13. So, in no particular order...

1. I was explaining to my uncle about the Leopards Eating People's Faces political party (because he hadn't heard of this meme), so I saved this for him. (No special reason why this is relevant...)

2. This goes with #1.

3. I was explaining this one to a student, and I realized I needed the visual. Link to this comic online.

4. I have several anti-AI art images. I'll only post one for today.

5. I feel this one so hard.

6. Uh, yeah, this might be me. (Definitely me.)

7. This one spoke to me after having done some laws in another Thursday 13 a while ago...

8. Another anti-AI, but this one is for text, not art.

9. Hopefully, this one needs no explanation.

10. You can buy this T-shirt here. (We have cobra chickens in my condo complex, and yeah, cobra chickens is a great way to describe them.)

11. Math joke.

12. Math limerick. (This one broke my brain.)

13. Let's end with a nice thought.

  1. Oh, I like the last sentiment - I needed that this morning.

    1. I save the ones I save for a reason. I needed #13 that day.

  2. Jamie here: Love the math limerick. The cat "needing to be dramatic" is funny!

  3. I am anti-AI art, yet used one for a postcard image today! I am ashamed... really. I do admit I used it though. I need to send 11 to my oldest son. He has always loved math, although is in CS. They overlap of course.

    1. I wasn't trying to shame anyone. The AI images are fun to play with. It's more about those that use the AI images rather than hiring an artist for commercial purposes.

  4. I try my best not to use AI and I do not use it for art. I used it one time for a blog post a couple of years ago and fully disclosed it. But at least one doctor’s office I interact with uses an AI to answer the phone. I want to interact with a human but we are being forced into interacting with AI more and more. Oh and I loved the last meme.

    1. While trying to book a hotel on Monday (long story, it's in tomorrow's post) I had to deal with an AI. It did not go well. When I finally got a human things worked just fine.

  5. Some real philosophy here, but my fave is the kitty.

    1. I need a poster of the kitty to be on my wall someplace.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
