False Witness

It was the end of the period, and the kiddos were on their way out. One boy, who was in a group on one side of the room, called out to a boy on the other side.

Boy 1: "Am I in football?"

Boy 2: "Yeah."

Boy 1: "I'm in football?"

Boy 2: "Yes. I mean no. No, you're not. I thought you wanted me to lie for you..."

Now we all know who to call if we suddenly need an alibi witness...

  1. Sounds like someone would crack under pressure.

    1. You have humor and compassion, a great combination. As to your kindly remark on my blog, thanks for the kind word. I've no luck on collecting a sample so far. But I have time if she'll tolerate a cup under her backside perhaps (without disrupting the stream). ~grin~ I was honestly happy to see Tilly urinating earlier tonight. Fortunately she seems to *feel* just fine. But that's the tricky thing about cats versus dogs. Felines tend to hide pain, which makes sense when you think of a loner animal who is both predator and prey in the wild. Would you want to show weakness?

      Be well!

  3. I see a potential he has down the road for making some money in providing alibis :)

    1. I'm not sure what prompted this. I'm assuming someone thought he was in football and he was trying to disabuse them of the notion.

  6. This made me laugh way too hard. I might need to steal and bastardize that line somewhere.

    1. Feel free to use it as you see fit. (Although, I'd appreciate a shout out in the acknowledgements ;) )

  7. Must check out the witness' reliability or at least his ability to keep his lips sealed.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
