Getting to the Back

I did absolutely no knitting this past week. School started, and all of my energy and focus was on getting things set up and keeping ahead of what I needed to do for work.

Luckily, last Monday I posted a link to my new YouTube video, so I did not post on the progress I made on eldest nephew's sweater. And I had made progress.

It's just about five inches away from being done with the back. Yay. If I wasn't working and it wasn't so blazingly hot, I'd believe I'd make my self-imposed deadline of having this back done by the end of August.

At least I'll be close. Hopefully I'll get some knitting time in as I settle into my long term subbing gig. But I'm not counting on that.

I hope everyone's back-to-school (or whatever you're up to at this time of year) is going smoothly.

  2. It does look nice! I've always liked that cable stitch, I have a habit of putting my finger under the loop part!

  3. Its girl's stuff. Well, what can I tell right now is the same as you said to all of us here. Hopefully all the project, or any programs all of us have to be done and going through will be carried on without headache on our head up to back-to-back activities in our life

  4. Beautiful work, as always. I don't like doing needlework during hot weather, too, but you'll make up for lost time.

    1. I find it's worse when I'm busy during the day. No brain left at night.

  5. So far, looking good. Yes, school in the US have re-opened. Here schools open in June-July. But colleges and univs have their own calendar.
Here in India, it's now going to a season of festivals from day after tomorrow onwards all the way up to New Year.

  6. Hi Liz - that looks really good ... and obviously you'll be encouraged to get it finished, as it's so near ... well done - we're in our early Autumn, and I hope some rain! - life, whichever age we are, goes on in the appropriate (usually!) time-frame. Cheers Hilary

  7. school doesn't start here til next week. Had to look it up. Some of our school zones aren't marked well and do not have lights that go on when school zone is active, you have to guess if you don't have kids, if its a school day or not. Its designed that way to be able to maximize city ticket funds, lol. Well its true. Or they say "when children are present" so you start trying to see if you see any kids somewhere.

    1. And each district around here is different, too. The district I went to school in started two weeks before us. The city I live in's district started yesterday.

  9. This is Birgit and this is looking so good! I love the colour and the pattern. I wonder if you could place that dragon pattern on the back of a sweater?

    1. On the back of *a* sweater or the back of *this* sweater? A sweater is a yes. This sweater, well, this is the back. I'm not changing it up now.
