Watching the political news has become quite painful of late. We're watching us losing our freedoms in real time. And those who have the power to do something, to stop it, aren't. Well, not all, but many.
So, now we're going to lose mail from Europe. The tariff thing. I'm glad I got that yarn that I ordered back in July. (It came from the U.K.)
I don't have anything new to say. Last week was a lot for me. School started. My focus was there.
So, I'll link the part 2 video from Indivisible (I linked the part 1 video a month ago). It's about building and working within coalitions.
The stopping of mail was shocking. The news is one thing after another we never thought would happen in the US. Plus obvious concerns about Trump's mental and physical state. The media is so afraid of being banned from press conferences they don't even try to correct him when he lies. No, "Excuse me, sir, that isn't quite accurate." Or, really, by now, does he even know they are lies? Sometimes I think he really believes what he says. Like today's news about Maryland's governor telling him he is the "greatest president" of his lifetime! The governor says it never happened! I love your governor and his posts ala Trump! Even the common Trump closing of "Thank you for your attention to this matter," which T. used a few nights ago in his all caps manner.
ReplyDeleteI saw a profile somewhere of the staffer who's in charge of his social media. She's doing an amazing job mimicking that style.
DeleteI agree with you that building partnerships and coalitions is far more valuable, whereas watching political news has sometimes left me baffled. I suppose some of our readers bloggers, in particular are not very interested in political issues, and that is understandable since everyone has their own news preferences. Personally, I enjoy all kinds of news.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I watched the video showcasing that inspiring solidarity and action, and I’ve subscribed as well. Unfortunately, the comments are turned off.
The comments were available when it was live streaming. The next one is in a couple weeks (I think), and if you watch it live you can comment.
DeleteTrashing the constitution is unbelievable to me. What happened to the Repub constitutionalists, I wonder. He threatens anyone anything that dares to disagree with him. His little feet licking spineless frends smile and nod in the background.
ReplyDeleteI spent a year of my life in a classroom studying the Constitution. I am beyond upset …
