Careful What You Wish For
At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements 😉
What if every lie you told last week came true this week?

I appreciate your comments.
I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.
*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.

That's a big "What if." Now I have to go back and see what lies I told last week. I hope they weren't too terrible! :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you can't remember, they probably weren't ;)
DeleteThat would not be good...my hubby would know he has money in his account and would spend it. he would also know where I hid the chocolates
ReplyDeleteWell, if you said there were no chocolates and then hid them, then you would have no chocolates. And that's a tragedy.
DeleteI can't remember what lies I told last week. I wonder if that's good or bad.
ReplyDeleteMe neither ;)
Delete...huh. I'm a little disturbed that I can't remember if I lied last week or not.
ReplyDeleteEither you're a pathological liar, or you didn't lie much at all...
DeleteWell, I'd like to think that I didn't lie last week. But that would probably be a lie. I imagine the character this happened to would get into an almighty mess.
ReplyDeleteI hope I didn't lie. lol I can't remember if I did or not...
ReplyDeleteYou probably didn't.
DeleteI don't remember telling any lies last week. Although I'd be so upset that I missed the opportunity to tell lies that I want to be true.
ReplyDeleteI don't really lie so nothing should happen from this past week :)
ReplyDeleteThat may not be a good thing ;)
DeleteI think the only lie I might have said last week (that I can remember at least LOL) was that I told my hubby that I was looking at help wanted job sites last week when actually I was binge watching on NetFlix. So if the lie came true this week, then I would be job hunting, which wouldn't be a bad thing :)

YIKES!!! HAHA....I know some people would be in some serious do do! haha....I don't normally tell lies. I live with enough of that going around me and some do enough for us all. I can't even think of a stretched truth I might have told last week other than when asked at a register how I was and I said AWESOME! So if that came true, I would welcome it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great lie to tell.
DeleteI'm more along the lines of 'too much information' truth. ~grin~ But I like where this question takes my imagination. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know what you mean.
DeleteI'm not in the habit of lying but I guess I wish I was if they had the potential to come true!
ReplyDeleteI guess you'd be surprised if there was a lie then, eh?
DeleteI can't even remember what I had for breakfast yesterday. lol I don't think I told any whoppers last week. Maybe to myself that I was gonna finish cleaning the deck. It would be good if that one came true, though. lol
