I never wanted to live in a fascist country. And here we are. Sigh.
If you're here, you already know this. I am not going to spend time trying to convince people who are too stupid to follow the news and connect the dots. I need to focus on what we can do. And, there are some good things happening.
Have you been following the #TeslaTakedown? People are coming out en masse to protest Tesla dealerships. They're getting people to sell their Teslas. And this appears to be working. The resale value of a Tesla has plummeted, and Tesla stock prices are cratering. If he wants to take a sledgehammer to everything that makes America great, we'll take a sledgehammer (figuratively) to his fortune.
Also, the Target boycott (protesting their capitulation on being an inclusive company) appears to be going well. Target is noticing a drop in sales, and their stock price has taken a hit.
So, if you are looking for a way to be proactive, look for a #TeslaTakedown event near you.
Or, there's a big series of protests scheduled for April 5th: Hands Off!
I'll leave you with a little video I found funny. And hopeful. We need a bit of hope in these terrible times. (I tried to embed it here, but I can't. It's from Instagram reels, and it's called the Pettysburg Address. It's only a couple minutes, and it'll bring a smile to your face.)
I see there is a Hands Off! in my city. We'll see how well that goes, this is a red part of Oregon. Actually, to a lot of people's surprise, most of Oregon by the map is red, but the populated areas carry it blue. Thank goodness! I've never liked Teslas, and the ones I've ridden in (Uber) weren't all that impressive! And those trucks? There are a few in town, and they must be a "LOOK AT ME!" thing, because they are hilariously ugly! I watched the video. Court cases lost? I think Trump must hold the record of most of those lost!
ReplyDeleteIt's weird how rural areas go red while cities go blue. Or maybe not so weird.
DeleteThere is no Hands Off in my community, although I did see there was an organized bus trip being advertised to the Hands Off event in Washington DC. I see a Cybertruck driving around my neighborhood on occasion. I think its driver is visiting a local business in my neighborhood because I see it in its parking lot sometimes when I take my exercise walks. Teslas give ugly a new face, in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked the first time I saw one of those monstrosities. Turns out there are a lot in this neck of the woods.
DeleteI live in a very red community in a blue state. It could get wild here.
ReplyDeleteBurning Teslas is not the answer.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Target boycott from two years ago just ended?
I'm not for burning Teslas. Not all protests are descending into vandalism. I don't know about a Target boycott from two years ago.
DeleteThere is one person I see who owns one of those tesla trucks. They are the ugliest pieces of shit I've ever seen. This video is funny but I find interesting is that the general news don't tell you that Resident Rump's actions are not working. Fear is what the news propels as well as his crap and the crap of the oligarchs. You know, here we are going to the voting polls on April 28th. I pray Peter Polyp doesn't get in ( Pierre Pollievre)
ReplyDeleteI thought I would never live in a fascist country either.
