It's Happening Again

I have about five different ideas about where to start today. It's hard to narrow it down. But if I think about the one thing that bothers me the most about *gestures to everything*, it's the ICE raids. And the concentration camps.

This story was shared on BlueSky. This link takes you to the posts on BlueSky. Here's a taste of it:

They are committing atrocities.

And that's just Chicago. The same thing is happening in Los Angeles. And all over the country.

  1. Sadly, I don't think we're hearing about much that's going on. :(

    1. The fact that these are getting through worries me about what's not.

  2. Just this morning I read about ICE pepper spraying into a car at close range (that was leaving a Costco parking lot due to hearing the helicopters and other sounds they had come to recognize and decided to get out of there), hitting a baby. The father was hospitalized for an asthma attack, he got the spray directly in his face.
Their car wasn't targeted, the family not involved in any enforcement actions. And ICE denies it happened at all. There are several credible reports it did happen.

  3. Each and everyday I am horrified by the stories I read, the pictures and video's I see. And what horrifies me the most is if it weren't for independent groups reporting, we would know nothing. The major news agencies are too afraid of trumpie and his cult. Krist Noam gets on tv and does nothing but lie. I've read more books then I can count about WWII and the Nazi, and what's happening here is no better. AND the other horrifying thing is some folks applaud it. I'm disgusting with so many of my fellow citizens. I'm out visiting everyone on my blog list to catch up, as it's been far too long since I've blogged; and it's good to get back into it.

  4. I am horrified, too. We never thought people would be disappeared in our country, or tortured with the permission of a federal government led by leaders who love to talk about violence and turn their back on it. We never imagined the quick folding by the mainstream media ignoring these situations. I am encouraged that people are trying to tell the truth, even in small ways. Democracy dies in darkness.

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
