Beware the Bans

Not a "what if?" today. Just a question. What is pornography? No, it's not as easy to define as you might think, because this is how they'll ban books they don't like.

Like they're already doing.

  1. It's ridiculous, on the other hand - books that were banned at my middle school, my friends and I got our hands on and passed around secretly. Forbidden fruit!

    1. It's great when things like this backfire. The scary part is: what if some sort of governmental entity bans the books?

    1. This is what I try to remember when a book offends me. Of course, I don't go around telling people what not to read, so...

  3. You're right - book banners are never on the right side of history. But they keep trying. Librarians are on the front line of this battle, a profession I aspired to when I was younger but never quite got there.

  4. Thanks so much for sharing this. I agree with those who say book banners are never on the right side of history.

  6. I don't know why people want to control other people so badly, inject their control into other people's bodies, their bedrooms, their reading......

I appreciate your comments.

I respond to comments* via email, unless your profile email is not enabled. Then, I'll reply in the comment thread. Eventually. Probably.

*Exception: I do not respond to "what if?" comments, but I do read them all. Those questions are open to your interpretation, and I don't wish to limit your imagination by what I thought the question was supposed to be.
