A Holiday

Uh oh. It's a holiday. Isn't it?

No fair! A holiday and a Thursday...

Oh, wait. I know.

What sort of holidays/celebrations do your fantasy worlds have? Do they have any? What are they like?

(Yeah, so not so much a what if. I hope you don't mind.)

    My fantasy worlds tend to have holidays celebrating either people (kings and heroes), religion, or to do with harvest. Typical, no doubt.

    I don't think I've ever invented a holiday for a fantasy world. A science fiction world, yes--I invented a huge, galaxy-wide festival (of sorts) that involved white trees.

    I hope you had a fun 4th!

    My books are always contemporary fantasy, so they'd pretty much celebrate all the same holidays. I had a vampire Jewish teen. She celebrated Jewish holidays. My newest YA has witches, so I see them as the solstice-celebrating type.

      4th? Oh, that day between the 3rd and 5th? Yeah, I did nothing.

      I guess the question doesn't really apply to fantasy set in a contemporary setting.

    No fantasy world for me, I have enough to deal with the real world, lol. We had lots of rain over the long holiday wkend, which really dampened the picnics, parades and fireworks. Hope you enjoyed your holiday, real or make believe.

    Depends on the world. In my sci-fi book, the holidays are the same as the real world.
