What's Your Name?

At the heart of much speculative fiction (and fiction in general) is a question. What if? On Tuesdays I like to throw one out there and see what you make of it. Do with it as you please. If a for-instance is not specified, feel free to interpret that instance as you wish. And if you find this becomes a novel-length answer, I'd appreciate a thank you in the acknowledgements. 😉

What if everyone wore name tags all the time?

  1. Actually I would love it, LOL. The older I get the more I forget people's names after I meet them. Having a name tag would take care of that problem. However, I wouldn't be fond of having my kids when they were younger having their names on display. Makes them more vulnerable I think.

  3. I kind of like the idea, too. ~grin~ And that mistake in your project is invisible to me, for sure. Be well!

  5. Then I'd be forced to correct people's pronunciations of my name even more. No thanks.

  6. I wouldn't have any trouble with it. Now if I had to wear my weight I would of had trouble with that.

  7. I would love it! I would not have to worry about calling someone the wrong name or not remembering the name. Wait, excuse me please, you name again?

  8. I don't want everyone to know me plus they would not have a clue how to pronounce it unless they came from Europe. Remember, I have been called Brigit, Brigitte, Briget, beernut, beergut, bruschetta, bagel, baguette, and what kind of name is that? or Your mom must not have liked you.

  9. Being someone famous for not recognizing people, I think it's a great idea! Although, with my name, I suspect the pronunciation would be mangled enough times. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
