In Between Days

A funny thing happened a little over a week ago. I finished all my knit/crochet projects. It happens.

So, at the moment, I'm picking up a couple projects I meant to do for me. But I'm kind of at a loss as to what to knit next. Anyone want one of those pink protest hats

I don't even have pictures. I'm in the process of making another one of these...

...in purple this time, and with a different stitch pattern. (That's a 20 oz water bottle, by the way.)

And perhaps another jellyfish...

A video posted by Liz A. (@zizirho) on

That one is spoken for, but I was thinking of making more for my booth.

And I'm in the process of frogging

...because throwing it out just seems like a waste of yarn.

What are you working on now? Are you looking for something to do, too?

    1. I'm not fond of that one. I like the one I'm doing now better.

  3. Your octopus looks amazing and the vase looks like a Horgahan in Star Trek TNG, haha. At the moment I'm churning out short blurbs to entertain readers at my blog. Its fun to do and read.

  4. No projects here. Got to tell you a funny story. I was planning on giving the octopus to the little one at Christmas, but then in a senior moment, I totally forgot. So I find it the other day and I decide to put it in his toy bucket over here and then would send it home for them to hang it or do whatever with it. He goes to his toy bucket and he sees the octopus and he startles and immediately comes over to me. Keeps glancing at the octopus and won't go back to the toy bucket, so I have hubby take it and remove it from the bucket and put it on the couch. Grandson keeps glancing over at it, so I finally had hubby remember it from the room. Not sure why he was "frightened" of it, its adorable. Haven't had a chance to tell son about it yet, but will try it down the lane again with the grandson as he gets older :)

  8. I started to work on the famous crocheted afghan I started for my son in September of 2013. Didn't get too far. I tried to crochet one of those hats but I couldn't quite wrap my tired mind around the pattern. Have you thought about making something for charity i.e. knit a hat for a premie or something similar? 9. I stopped knitting and crocheting big items like throws and stuff years ago and started on scarves and pot holders. I have given away potholders till I think everyone I know has one.....and I have done the same with scarves. So in my process of trying to make life easier and clear somethings away, I gave hundreds of dollars worth of yarn to the local artist studio in town. I will buy as I need when I decide to do anything like that again. Keep up the good work.

  10. Hey Liz - meant to also tell you that you commented on my blog about wishing you were into something like the Free Art Movement - It would be simple to do in your area on facebook. Also do you know that around the world they have something like this but using yarn. There they decorate a fence, pole or something around town in yarn. Look it up...its cool. Or maybe making scarves for the homeless? Thanks for stopping by the blog.

    1. Not feeling very artistic at the moment. My hands need to be busy, though, so I'm doing the equivalent of make-work.

  12. First: That Jellyfish is absolutely adorable.
Second: While I don't work on anything, I think my wife is 'secretly' making me a Slytherin scarf.

  14. Love the jellyfish. Got my hands full at the moment, but I'm going to start working on A-Z posts once I finish my WIP draft. Definitely planning to take part this year - how about you?

  16. I'm still rewriting a series of thirteen short stories and having a blast. I don't even want to set it aside for food. Protein bars and nutritional shakes have become my best friends.

  17. I want a pink pussyhat, but my family would probably kill me if they were around while I was wearing it. My step-grandfather's daughter called them "porn" shortly after the march. *sigh*

As for me, I actually have other things I want to spend my money on more. Like the ACLU. And shopping at Nordstrom. Maybe with a coke or Starbucks product in hand? ;) If I change my mind though, you'll be the first to know. They are really cute hats. :)

    1. I wonder how big a bump Nordstroms is getting from all this free publicity.
